Both former Royal Air Force officers with combat experience, Ray and Amy have a wealth of experience and knowledge in aviation. Ray has flown front line fighter bombers all over the world and lead multi-national NATO missions, while Amy briefed coalition helicopter forces during the Iraq War and fighter forces during peacetime operations.

Name: Ray or “Mudge”
Age: 29
Weight: mid year 80kg, post xmas 90 ish
Origin: Westport, cultural capital of NZ
Experience: 9 years as a Jet pilot and a couple of years in JAG AIR
Favourite aircraft: Spitfire. The one with the big engine.
Favourite move: Just flying along upside down
Craziest thing you have ever done in a plane: Supersonic over the Mediterranean and ripped some panels off the aircraft. Taking Amy supersonic. Flying through a napalm fire ball behind some Polish dudes in Europe.
Craziest thing you have ever done out of a plane: Being mugged at knife point by the Russian Mafia in a basement (somewhere in Cyprus) and fighting the chief mafia guy
When not flying: Hanging out with my wee girl Ruby and wife Amy, running my companies and playing the piano
Claim to fame: Broke both feet on my last flight in the RAF after jumping out of my burning jet at night
Music Choice: Chopin - he was really quite good

+ ADAM BUTCHER / BASE MANAGER

Name: Adam Butcher
Age: 26
Weight: 68kg
Origin: Wairarapa
Experience: Love flying unique and, invariably, old aircraft. Have time in Tiger Moth, Nanchang, Stearman, Cubs, Pitts... and some of thosewhite ones too :-) Did some microlighting, gliding and hot air balloning earlier to keep the withdrawl symptoms away!!
Favourite aircraft: Lancaster, P-40 Kittyhawk, Tigermoth. Do I have to choose??!!!
Favourite move: Everything!!
Craziest thing you have ever done in a plane: Will tell you when I`m not allowed to fly anymore!!
Craziest thing you have ever done out of a plane: Hmm.. Most recently set the Aero Club record for the fastest time climbing through the rafters at the Aero Club. Whew!!
When not flying: Thinking about flying!!he he!! Eating BIG AL Fergburgers - pilot food!! There are so many cool things to do in queenstown!
Claim to fame: Flying in formation with a Spitfire in the Nanchang, not sure that makes me famous though!! Just pretty lucky!!
Music Choice: Bag piping, Irish, Guns and Roses `cause Andy makes me!!, pretty spineless, like a bit of everything!!
My bit: Don`t ever let someone tell you something can`t be done, be prepared to make things happen yourself and look at the big picture to measure your achievements. Never accept mediocrity, or consider yourself superior, learn at every oppurtunity from others, take the time to listen to all. Be unselfish with your knowledge, however limited it may feel to you. Give yourself time to understand what makes you truly happy, don`t rely on others to provide this for you - let their presence enhance your happiness!! SMILE LOTS!! And learn to fly!!

+ ANDY LOVE / PROFESSIONAL PILOT

Name: Andy Love
Age: 24
Weight: 78kg
Origin: Lincoln, Canterbury
Experience: 170 aerobatics (Robin, Yak 52, Pitts S2A/B/S1. Flown other types including Chipmunk and Harvard, and all the normal GA trainers.
Favourite aircraft: Spitfire, Sukhoi Su 31, Yak 50/52, Pitts Model 12.
Favourite move: rolling manoeuvres (hesitation ,vertical etc)
Craziest thing you have ever done out of a plane:
When not flying: Soccer, Cricket, avid Formula 1 (McLaren) fan, eating Ferg Burgers, a bit of mountain biking.
Claim to fame: Numerous outdoor 'adventures'
Music Choice: Guns n Roses, Pink Floyd, Crowded House, Pearl Jam, Led Zep, Foo's, Live, Shihad, Atlas, Audioslave, ie: ROCK!
Future goals: To compete in advanced level, at the NZ aerobatic championships, and to take this momentum to the US Nationals with some local competitions under my belt before hand. I also aspire to be an airshow pilot, and to fly the Spitfire.

+ RUPERT MACLACHLAN / PROFESSIONAL PILOT

Name: Rupert MacLachlan
Age: 19 (almost 20 at the end of Nov!!)
Weight: 83kgs
Origin: Christchurch, NZ
Experience: Enjoy flying older aircraft, especially the Cub and the the Yak I have shares in. Also have C Category Instructor Rating.
Favourite aircraft: Where to start! But probably P-40 Kittyhawk (Adam and I will have it one day!)
Favourite move: Anything upside down!
Craziest thing you have ever done out of a plane: Flying with Adam and Andy!
When not flying: Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Running, Adventure Racing, anything fun outdoors!
Claim to fame: Be silly enough to do numerous 5 day non stop adventure races, and keep going back for more!
Music Choice: Shihad, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, I'll listen to pretty much anything!
My bit: "Can't never did anything!" Never let someone tell you you can't do something. Anything is possible if it's what you want! Future goals: Fly a P-40 Kittyhawk, and to never loose the fun of flying!
